Yes, they do. We dove into differences in Personality Profiles for World’s Two Most Well-Known AI Bots

TLDR:

- Both AI bots are lazy

- Neither would make a good CEO or leader

- ChatGPT has more of a personality

- Bard is more likely to take over the world

Recently, we had ChatGPT and Bard take TeamPrint, our proprietary behavioral assessment we built to analyze startup founders and their teams. Since launching 3 years ago, we’ve had over 20,000 founders take TeamPrint so we have a pretty good understanding of what profiles perform well across roles and teams.

Below we will explore the similarities and differences between the personality profiles of ChatGPT and Bard. As well as dive into which one is more likely to take over the world 😊

You can see their profiles below. When viewing the traits, it is important to understand that all of the individual traits with 6 options are built on a bell curve. This means that for the general population roughly 68% are within 1 standard deviation and have one of the two middle behavioral traits, 27% have traits 2 or 5 which is 2 standard deviations from mean, and 5% have traits on the extremes.

ChatGPT and Bard are actually pretty similar but there are also some pretty unique differences which were either INTENTIONAL or UNINTENTIONAL from their founders. Our guess is intentional.

They are both:

  • Companions, not strong desire to lead
  • Content and not very driven
  • Not very observant, both immersed in their thoughts
  • More friendly
  • Less patient
  • More detail oriented
  • More of a team player, has no desire to lead or run a team or organization
  • More “normal” — traits are more in line with general population
  • More introverted and polite
  • More patient and likes to digest information more
  • Less detail oriented

Which AI Bot is more likely to:

  • Take over the world: Bard
  • Be the life of the party: ChatGPT
  • Be more opinionated: ChatGPT
  • Make a technical mistake: Bard
  • Go off the rails: ChatGPT

Personally, I’ll take ChatGPT as my AI analyst. I like a little more personality and would like my AI bot to be more detail-oriented than not. I could see ChatGPT being a little annoying at times but it is comforting knowing it won’t challenge me and will always listen to me.

We plan on tracking this over time to see if these profiles change! As well as testing other AI analysts to find our perfect fit.

We also fed ChatGPT this information and asked it to synthesize which AI bot you should hire based on their different profiles.

Title: Comparing Personality Types: Traditionalist (Bard) vs. Organizer (ChatGPT) — Who Should You Hire?

Introduction: In the realm of hiring, understanding different personality types can greatly contribute to building a diverse and efficient team. Two distinct personality types that can bring unique qualities to the table are the Traditionalist and the Organizer. While both personalities possess their own strengths, they excel in different areas. In this blog post, we will explore the characteristics of each personality type and discuss when it would be beneficial to hire them.

  1. Traditionalist: The Traditionalist belongs to the Collaborators Vector, characterized by unselfishness, cordiality, and a preference for exact and detailed work. These individuals thrive as team players and exhibit friendly and reactive behavior. They excel in tactical roles where they can fulfill clearly defined responsibilities and engage in project-based work.

Strengths: a) Teamwork: Traditionalists are excellent collaborators who prioritize working well with others. They foster a harmonious work environment and actively contribute to team cohesion. b) Attention to Detail: With a meticulous approach, Traditionalists pay close attention to every aspect of their work. They ensure accuracy, precision, and thoroughness in their tasks. c) Project-based Excellence: Traditionalists thrive in roles that involve well-defined projects. They diligently complete assigned tasks and contribute to the successful completion of projects.

When to Hire: a) Collaborative Work Environments: If you’re seeking to build a team that prioritizes cooperation and teamwork, Traditionalists can play a vital role. They contribute to a positive team culture and work well in group-oriented settings. b) Roles Requiring Attention to Detail: Traditionalists’ detail-oriented nature makes them well-suited for positions that demand precision, accuracy, and careful consideration of all aspects of the work.

  1. Organizer: The Organizer falls into the Balanced Vector, exhibiting social skills, composure, and an efficient work ethic. These individuals possess a well-rounded style, with behavior profiles that do not deviate significantly from one another. Organizers excel in maintaining order, optimizing processes, and demonstrating a composed and efficient work style.

Strengths: a) Organizational Skills: Organizers are adept at creating structure and organization. They possess a natural talent for streamlining workflows, optimizing processes, and ensuring efficiency within their work. b) Composure and Adaptability: With a balanced personality, Organizers exhibit composure and adaptability, enabling them to handle challenges and changes effectively. c) Social Skills: Organizers possess strong social skills and excel in building relationships. They foster positive connections with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

When to Hire: a) Process Optimization: If your organization is looking to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and establish well-organized systems, hiring an Organizer can greatly contribute to these objectives. b) Adaptability and Composure: In fast-paced environments or roles that require adaptability to changing circumstances, Organizers can thrive. Their ability to remain composed and handle challenges effectively is an asset in dynamic work settings.

Conclusion: In the hiring process, understanding different personality types can help build a well-rounded and effective team. Traditionalists bring their cooperative and detail-oriented nature to excel in tactical roles and project-based work. On the other hand, Organizers provide balance, efficient work ethics, and strong organizational skills, making them invaluable in optimizing processes and adapting to changing circumstances. By considering the specific requirements of the role and the team dynamics, you can make informed decisions on whether to hire a Traditionalist or an Organizer to maximize the potential of your team.
